Description

This course covers the latest updates to the Colorado Stormwater Discharge permit for construction sites. It reviews the proper use of erosion and sediment control measures and good housekeeping practices in relation to Stormwater regulations. This three-hour course offers participants online resources for reference, along with a review of the fundamental expectations of regulatory requirements. It also provides proven tools and methods to help achieve compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.

This Qualified Stormwater Management Refresher class will provide a certification that will last for 5 years.

The class will cover:

  • Changes from the last 2 Colorado Stormwater Discharge Permit releases:
  • Recent state inspections and enforcement actions, and what can be learned from them.
  • Updates or modifications to stormwater-related permits.
  • The latest stormwater products and reusable control measures to lower maintenance costs and improve compliance.
  • Procedures for evaluating compliance challenges on construction sites to identify solutions.
  • Proven and reliable standardized methodology for conducting consistent and thorough site inspections to ensure permit compliance.

 

The Instructor:

Rich Jackson, Account Manager, Environmental Compliance Manager, SRM

Rich has 17 years of experience in the building industry: 12 of which were spent in various supervisory roles within the residential construction sector, and the last 6 years focused exclusively on construction stormwater permit compliance, with an emphasis on developing permit compliance programs. Having joined SRM in 2007, Rich provides compliance assistance to both federal and civilian contractors and construction management agencies and provides compliance training in both the classroom and in the field. He also co-created SRM's Uniform Stormwater Management System, which has become a nationally recognized model for successful construction stormwater permit compliance.
