Description

ABOUT THE COURSE:

Project Engineers (PEs) play a pivotal role in the success of construction projects, with many being recent graduates or interns.  This Bootcamp bridges the gap left by higher education and targets interns or Project Engineers in the early stages of their construction careers, including those with up to seven years or experience.  It is also advantageous for craft leaders or administrative personnel aspiring to become Project Engineers.  The Bootcamp is conducted by seasoned constructors and instructors eager to impart their work experiences and nurture the next generation of construction leaders.

After finishing Unit 2, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of contracts and subcontracts, and their impact on the role of a Project Engineer (PE) in daily operations.  They will also learn about scheduling concepts and the best practices for updating the Contract Schedule.  This unit integrates knowledge of how submittals and the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule facilitate material and equipment procurement.  Additionally, students will explore the PE's responsibilities concerning jobsite safety and master 360-degree communication techniques to effectively interact with owners, architects, engineers, peers, craftworkers, and trade partners.
