Description

ABOUT THE COURSE:

This course enhances foundational print reading skills with advanced knowledge of mechanical electrical, and plumbing systems.  The skills acquired through this class will include the interpretation of various hearing and cooling systems, HVAC symbols, electrical terminology, schedules, types of electrical drawings, plumbing systems, fixtures, diagrams, and the ability to articulate the three stages of plumbing installation.

This hybrid course offers the flexibility to complete reading assignments, online videos, and workbook exercises at your own pace during the week, requiring approximately 3 to 4 hours.  Additionally, there is a weekly 1.5 hour session with the instructor and fellow learners to discuss workbook answers and pose questions.

Authored and instructed by seasoned commercial construction professionals, this course leverages an online learning platform to organize materials and content, which will remain accessible to students for two years post-completion.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Steve Hultin is an alumnus of Colorado State University, holding both bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering.  His career spanned the design and facilities aspects of the HVAC industry.  With 30 years at CSU, he became the Executive Director of Facilities Management.  Steve has been imparting his MEP knowledge since 1990 through lectures and teaching in CSU's Construction Management program.  His expertise offers a robust perspective on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
